Project Objectives

The TURICOR project has three main objectives:

• to compile a multilingual specialised corpus (both parallel and comparable) for automatic text generation, comparative law and specialised translation;
• to develop a prototype corpus-based NLG system for producing legal documents (tourism contracts) in each of the four target languages (English, German, Italian, Spanish) in parallel;
• to pursue a most recent research line of Translation Studies, i. e. applying and developing ICTs and translators tools within the broader context of Linguistic Technologies (LT).

TURICOR will greatly benefit digital learning and electronic commerce, as it involves:

• applying ICTs for research, e-education and professional translation, and
• promoting e-commerce within the tourism industry, a key sector for both national and European economy.
